Team Thoroughbred NSW is the heart of Racing NSW's commitment to the thoroughbred horse in every stage of its life. It supersedes the NSW Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Trust, which has been providing retraining for racehorses to help them find quality new homes and careers in retirement since 2011.
If you’ve recently rehomed an off the track Thoroughbred from NSW, you can expect a house call from Dr Carly Garling in the near future. The dedicated equine welfare veterinarian is one of two appointed by Racing NSW specifically to monitor retired racehorses in their new homes.
Young equestrienne Sarah Wilton scored her dream job as a re-trainer for Team Thoroughbred NSW after being involved in a special Pony Club program. She has even adopted her favourite retired racehorse.
Horses are in Asarri McPhee’s blood, but two off the track Thoroughbreds have awakened his passion for showjumping.
